It will not die entirely I guess, I hope not. I want to be able to login and be amazed at how fun a game can be. GW2 will be fun I guess but I seriously doubt it will be as fun as gw1 for me.

There will still be events after GW2 is released, yes. There's no reason to believe the Zaishen or Nicholas will pack up shop, either.
As for difficult content, it's why they've expanded to 7 heroes and Embark Beach.

Besides, there are plenty of ways to inject new life in GW1. I don't wanna discuss them here because this thread is not the place. Suffice to say that some skill tweaks and some content that emphasized (or mandated) PUGs as opposed to H/h would do wonders. (And don't QQ about the quality of PUGs. You can't have it both ways, simultaneously decrying how bad PUGs are AND complaining that H/h killed the game.)

Yes, all good things come to an end, but in many cases, such as Guild Wars, it bridges over to a new experience for those that wish it.
Of course there are ways to inject new life in GW1, that's not the case here. It's just that they won't besides sporadic updates for GW:B. Their live team is very small and only work for new content, not game fixing content.
As for players, yes, you can complain about both. Heroes did, hurt Guild Wars detrimentally. The standard for PUG quality is low as it is, so why bother with the stress of dealing with players that are subpar? The reason why Guild Wars is in this state is a multi-faceted issue. It is impossible to point the finger at only one aspect, doing so would be ignorant.
Now, don't get me wrong, I loved Guild Wars, my 8000+ hours proves that. (Although many of it was just afking, but nonetheless.) But my time in Guild Wars made me aware of what was going on around me in-game. It's about time Guild Wars leaves the stage, it had its run, and it was a long, and overall successful one at that, but it's time for Guild Wars 2.

I never thought I'd leave GWs, but I did, although I do check in occassionally just because I do love this game so much. I really am looking forward to GW2.
In the meantime, I am passing the time with Rift, which I have to say is a ton of fun. I figure it'll keep me occupied until GW2. You can't really compare it to GW except to say it's a MMORPG. I've been told it's closer to WoW, which I have never played.
Oh, there's a Rift player with a cleric dwarf by the name of Ogden. I caught it in local chat so I had to ask "Ogden? As in Ogden Stonehealer?" and the player is like "YES! You're the first one to get it." Lol. So it seems there are some GWs players in Rift also waiting for GW2.

Guild Wars has been my "home game" for 5 years. It'll always have a special place in my memories, but I think that when Guild Wars 2 rolls around I'll be more than ready to move on. I've done everything, I've seen the game. I know the lore like the back of my hand. I don't have 50/50 on my HoM, but the titles I'm missing are just the grind titles (Sweet Tooth, Drunkard, Wisdom, etc. etc.) so I'm not missing out on much. I have enough points to get all of the items in Guild Wars 2, and that's plenty for me.
No need to sit and mourn over the empty shell of an old friend when it has been reborn into a new entity.
That sounded a lot deeper than I meant it to. o_O

I honestly am sorta sad that it will end. But I need to move on. I really don't think it will be GW2, tho. I hate it, so far. Okay, I like some things, but the majority, no. Maybe there will come something else, that's even better than GW2.

It's not like they're making GW2 to be a real spiritual successor to GW. They are completely different games, right down to the core. I wouldn't be any more worried about GW2 killing GW than Rift killing GW.

No. First, like the above poster said... they are still going to be COMPLETELY different games. Although, I do believe most of the players will move on to GW2 me included, but it'll be kinda like Diablo2 ya know? Always gotta come back and play here and there... I don't think it will ever die out.
